THE JO’BURG BHOYS HEAD NORTH

In November 2007 Bill and Gerry from the Jo’burg CSC headed up to north, to near the Zimbabwean border, to distribute kit donated by our pals at Trinity High School in Renfrewshire. Their destination was a home for physically and mentally handicapped people, located just outside the town of Swartruggens. As you’ll see, the lhads were popular visitors and soon the Celtic kit and other donated strips were proudly worn and an impromptu footie game kicked off.
Bill attempted to get involved in the game but, alas, the kids ran rings around him.
The corrugated iron structure in the background is actually the school building; these guys really have little in terms of facilities and equipment. There’s even no electricity or running water and the villagers collect all their water from the local stream.
So many thanks again to Stephen Colligan and the learners at Trinity High School for really helping to put smiles on faces.
